Very few South Koreans will oppose a plan to prepare economically for eventual reunification. The problem lies in how to allocate the expenses and how to come up with the money required. This issue should not be handled solely as a cost problem,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but should be discussed as part of a society-wide preparation for reunification. British-based computer security firm Sophos is warning of a Facebook scam inviting users to install a "dislike" button. The scam tricks users into allowing a rogue application to access their profile page,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which then posts spam messages and spreads itself by inviting the person's Facebook friends to get the button. The application also attempts to dupe users into completing an online survey.
Sophos says the "dislike" button is the latest in a string of Facebook scams,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], including links purporting to lead to funny or shocking video.
Facebook already features a "like" button for users to indicate they approve of something on another friend's page,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], usually a comment,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], post or photo. The "like" feature has prompted many on Facebook to call for a "dislike" option to counter it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], making the option to have a "dislike" button useful to scammers.

The Korean Embassy in Washington D.C. requested the U.S. National Security Council and the State Department to restore the description of Dokdo as South Korean territory. But the federal U.S. Board of Geographical Names (BGN) has reportedly said it was impossible to reverse its recent decision to revise its description of the Dokdo islets as an area of ��undesignated sovereignty�� on its Web site from its previous listing as South Korean territory. An NSC official also said the BGN��s decision was made by technical experts, while no U.S. policymakers were involved.
Gonzalo Gallegos, deputy spokesman for the State Department,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], told a daily briefing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], ��The change to the Web site does not represent a change in U.S. policy, but rather an action to ensure consistency with that policy.�� He was saying that,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], since it was Washington��s policy not to take the side of either South Korea or Japan on the matter,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the description had simply been changed to reflect that stance. But until now,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the BGN had practically designated Dokdo as South Korean territory. But changing the designation of the Dokdo islets as an area of ��undesignated sovereignty�� marks a sudden shift in a decades-long practice and clearly in favor of Japan. It is difficult to understand Washington��s rationale that such an important change was not the decision of the U.S. government or that it does not reflect a shift in Washington��s stance.
The NSC official said that the consistent position of the U.S. government was that it will not get involved in the dispute between South Korea and Japan and that Washington did not want to play any role in intensifying the issue. But the reality is that the United States has intervened in a matter involving South Korea and Japan,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], even though no urgent situation had developed and because of this,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the dispute has now grown even more intense. At least for South Korea,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], anti-U.S. sentiment will inevitably boil over. It��s just a mystery what the U.S. government would gain by doing this.
Deservedly, the United States is becoming the target of increasing blame and condemnation among South Koreans. But this is something that must be approached objectively. Even though the official stance of the United States was to recognize neither South Korea��s nor Japan��s sovereignty over Dokdo, Washington has never objected to South Korea��s effective control over the islets since former Korean president Syngman Rhee announced the Peace Line in 1952 that included Dokdo as part of South Korean territory. We must also think carefully about the diplomatic benefits of pressuring Washington.
No matter what the United States says,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the fact that Dokdo is South Korean territory will not change. An emotional approach is not the only option for us. Why in many motivational programs there are different winners and losers? Enabling motivation means teaching. Managers teach people how to motivate themselves and in turn people find ways for self-reward,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], praise, and internal motivation. Stop the silly Friday dress down days, employee of the month awards,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and special parties for high performance. This rarely works for children so why assume this approach to motivate work for adults. Treat people at work as owners and as a result people will act and make decisions like owners.
Almost everywhere you turn there seems to be another rewards based incentive program to motivate people. This approach can work short term only for people who don't like their work. But with the time these people will only demand larger rewards to gain the same satisfaction. And for people who actually enjoy their work, their performance and motivation will most likely decrease short and long term since they are the ones who don't require external factors to do what they enjoy. I have found that the best way to ensure people are at their best is to align their abilities (what they are able to do if motivated) and their interests. The intersection is where people will thrive.
