Why colour is hot for spring
Marc Jacobs for
Louis Vuitton was playful in his delivery, and his Rive Gauche sophisticates stepped off a giant carousel to show off couture confectionery in powdery pastel shades of yellow and the palest of pinks.
Marc, tipped to replace Galliano at Dior, proved his masterly hand for femininity through the mediums of lemon lace and blownout broderie anglaise with lots of apertures.
All the better to see the frothy, whimsical pieces below.

His mintgreen dresses were gauzy, with rich plumage created from marabou feather skirts.
The green shade in particular has found favour across the fashion spectrum. Simone Rocha used a green tulle for her transparent, floating half skirts.

It's a hot one, wonderful for tans, and there's lots of it about. Helen McAlinden, whose tailoring genius is obvious in her store on Dublin's South William Street, has a wonderful deeporange dress out for spring/summer 2012.
There are lots of colourblocked accessories in orange and pink. One colour you won't find me in this season, however, is the bright yellow which many fashion labels have bought into.
